What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapists are University educated health care professionals who focus on restoring and maintaining physical function by providing personalized treatment plans. Assessments are based on a detailed knowledge of anatomy and pathology and treatment is applied in a scientific manner for therapeutic results.

Physiotherapists emphasize “active recovery”, encouraging patients to play an active role in their rehabilitation to achieve optimum results. The use of manual therapy techniques, specific exercises, modalities and patient education such as instruction of proper body mechanics are often important components in recovery.
