Taping

Taping is a great adjunct to your physical therapy treatment plan as it can help speed up your injury healing time by supporting your muscles and joints during daily activities that cannot be avoided. 

Therapeutic taping can be used to progress healing of various different conditions, some being: 

 

  • Tennis Elbow

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Muscle strains

  • Ankle sprains

  • Knee sprains

  • Patellar tendonitis

  • Low back pain

  • Rotator cuff pathology

What Are the Benefits of Taping?

Taping can be left on for a few days, which provides therapeutic benefits to the injured area 24 hours a day, significantly accelerating the healing process from trauma, injuries and inflammatory conditions. A list of therapeutic benefits are:

  • Swelling Reduction

  • Lymphoedema Reduction

  • Reduced Muscle Fatigue, Cramps and Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS)

Braces

 Braces are beneficial for your aches, pains and injuries as they help you immobilize, protect, unload and/or support the injured tissues in order to facilitate the healing process. Braces may allow you to return to your normal routine and activities by helping harmful movements. 

  • Features textured C-shaped buttress for maximum patella control and versatile strapping system that provides dynamic treatment with adjustable tension control

  • Indicated for patella subluxation, patello-femoral syndrome and as part of a rehabilitation program for patella tendon injuries

  • Anatomically designed to support and protect the ankle; utilizes a dual figure-8 strapping system to simulate a professional taping technique

  • Indicated for treatment of moderate ankle sprains, strains, ankle instability and weakness, or for prophylactic use

  • Features easy one-hand application that provides comfortable support of the wrist while preserving finger mobility

  • Indicated for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, tendonitis, wrist strains or sprains and post-cast removal

Please Note: Tape and Braces are not typically sold in our office, however they are used as a means for therapy if needed and as an educational tool to patients inquiring about braces. This is due to the individualized nature of bracing. Braces may only be provided to current patients, but please remember we are not a retail store. Thank you for your understanding.
