March 27th Update regarding temporary closure

during COVID-19 Pandemic

March 27, 2020

Dear Brooklin Village Physiotherapy patients and families,

Brooklin Village Physiotherapy continues take  every necessary step to ensure the safety and well-being of our clients, staff and the wider community regarding the risks associated with COVID-19. Your health, the health of our staff and the community are our top priority.

After re-evaluating the current evidence and following recommendations from our governing body and Health Canada, Brooklin Village Physiotherapy has made the difficult decision to remain physically closed at least another two weeks with tentative plans to re-open in early to mid April depending on the COVID-19 situation and the safety of our patients, staff and the community.

On the positive side, some of our physiotherapists have begun to offer Virtual Physiotherapy appointments (TeleRehab) and are able to assist patients by proving their physiotherapy care in the comfort of their own home utilizing video conference technology that meets all the privacy and security demands set out by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.  The virtual platform can be accessed through your mobile device, laptop or desktop computer and we have provided some more information on preparing for tour virtual session on our website under ‘Virtual Physiotherapy’.   Most extended health care insurance providers, along with WSIB and some motor vehicle insurance companies have come on board to cover the cost of these Virtual Physiotherapy sessions.  To find out further information, please go to our website www.brooklinvillagephysio.ca and click under 'Virtual Physiotherapy' tab for further details or email our main address at brooklinphysio@hotmail.com. Please note, a virtual appointment may not be suitable for everyone and we are happy to discuss options with you.

We will continue to make ourselves available through our individual physios emails, which have all been working since March 16, 2020, and are available for telephone conversations to help patients who have any questions or concerns regarding their care.  Please do not hesitate to call or email us if you have questions or require clarification regarding your physiotherapy or if you have any matters that you deem urgent or concerning.  Although our doors may be physically closed, we are still working, although in a different capacity, to provide the best treatment options available for our patients.

You can find our email addresses located on our website www.brooklin.physio under the ‘Our Team’ menu tab. If you have sent an email to your physio and not heard a reply please contact us at brooklinphysio@hotmail.com and we will respond asap.

Keeping our clients, staff and the community safe is our main objective.
